Well, this is why we can't have nice things.

A few months ago the AI tagging rules were introduced to allow those who prefer not to consume AI generated content to avoid it..

The tag was not to single out AI stories in any way, it was no different from a Family flair on a "family" story, it was purely information for readers to make a decision on whether or not they wanted to consume that content.

Instead, someone (or a number of someones) have decided to be complete fucking dicks (and yes that's an official technical term) and have targetted any post tagged with AI, downvoting them to basically zero.

Therefore effective immediaitely the AI tagging rules have been removed.

For all those who are going to claim it's just normal downvoting or it happens to all AI stories whether they are tagged or not...

No, it doesn't.

With the co-operation of a couple of authors I ran some tests and they were completely definitive.

This wasn't what the tag was for, if people are going to use the tag for that then the tag goes away. Regardless of what you think about AI, the authors are not doing anything against the rules and thus don't deserved to be punished because of a group of "fucking dicks". The popularity of the non-tagged posts demonstrates that VERY clearly.

There are going to be a bunch more changes to various things on the sub in the near future and there's a deifnite possibility that there will be some new method of identifying AI posts but at the moment there isn't.

If you have an issue with that thank the "complete dicks".

As an addendum to this rule, if you don't like AI, keep it to yourself and read something else. There are plenty of different types of stories that people DON'T like or DON'T read and they keep it to themselves and go about their day, learn to do the same.
